One of my first days of my residency I went for a (long) walk to Joan Miró’s museum and studio (once upon a time). You cannot imagine how over the moon I was to discover no less than 3 thrift stores along the way! Walking. On. Air. I bought this vessel, because I had been looking at a lot of Picasso and Matisse’s work in the lead up and knew I wanted to painted a simple jug; make it sing. It felt meant to be when I found it. And this painting is one of my favourites - it was the first on show on my side of the exhibition space, which means it’s special ;)
