This painting was about ¾ of the way done by the time our show rolled around in Palma. I was delighted with the jug, but not the rest. I had been inspired by the simplicity of Picasso and Matisse’s still lifes depicting jugs and fruit; striving to create in that vein while I was away. I brought it home with me and it’s been quietly sitting in my studio until I felt inspired to finish it just this week! Divine timing.
